Below are my three hobby tractors, I like to tinker and strip and paint parts at a snail's pace of course! I went all through everything that moves from the crankshaft to the differential in the 2N. All fresh.

When I got the 601 diesel, it was in a hangar broken in half for a clutch rebuild. It had sat there for two years because the bucket they put the bolts in had disppeared. I was offered the broken in half tractor, all the new clutch parts and a promise that it ran fine when parked, for $400. I found a box of bolts on ebay from a guy in Floida who was parting out a 601 Diesel. It turned out to have other problems, not just the clutch. It had a bad head, broken exhaust valve, and a bad piston. The head and piston were both beaten up by the loose chunk of broken exhaust valve banging around in there. Also a bad fuel injection pump. I repaired all that myself (the replacement head came from the same guy with the bolts in Florida) and she now runs like a swiss watch. I need to fix and refinish the front end sheet metal. It just got new rear wheel rims, with the centers cleaned up and powder coated. I need help from a neighbor to get it off the stands, we lifted the 601 onto the stands with the bucket on the 4000 industrial.
More to do! Probably need to make some more bushing tool sets.
